The Minutes

THIRD ANNUAL DRUNKEN CHICKEN DINNER
The third annual drunken chicken dinner was held at
the Houston Homestead in downtown Rocky Point. I
drove to this much anticipated event with Janet
Harper and Paulie. We took the scenic route into
the homestead and viewed the cottages along the
shore. Once the homestead was in view we were
unsure how to proceed to the cottage. Never fear,
our driver Indy Janet got us to the door safe and
sound.
In the Houston’s yard was an unknown vehicle which
caused much discussion and concern. Who did this
SUV belong to, did Joni purchase a new car, or did
it belong to Carrie, who could it be? Gus met us
at the door and welcomed us to his happy home.
Soon the hostess with the mostest, greeted us and
we were ushered into the estate.
In no time flat we discovered the mystery of the
SUV. It belonged to Barb and Gary who had driven
the PigAulds to the festivities. Ah we were very
glad to have this mystery cleared up. Now it was
time to begin the drinking. Grab a beer, sit by
the fire and have an hors d'oeuvre or two. This is
the life. Soon the Likely’s arrived with Jeanne
and Doug in tow. We were all here except for Lady
Di, Carole Anne, Stevie and Ms. Douglas. Hopefully
the minutes will reflect the memories of this
auspicious occasion.
The ambiance of the homestead was perfect and
company delightful. The aroma of the dinner
swirled around the air and we were filled with
happy expectation of the meal that would soon be
